Directions:
1- Issue blank 3”X 5” cards to each participant
2- Ask each person to write down one issue/problem/situation that often occurs or has occurred in the past in his/her workplace that represents a performance problem (10 Minutes)
3- Collect all cards and split the group into teams of two.
4- Shuffle the cards and hand out a card for each participant, making sure that each team gets a card they did not write.
5- Ask each team to discuss the issue/problem/situation and come up with a resolution and a suggestion of how they would handle it and write this down on the back of the card. (10 Minutes)
6- Ask each participant to present to the group both the issue/problem/situation and their proposed solution.
This specific activity can be used in almost any kind of topic to practically show participants how to apply what was learned back on the job. The topic can be easily changed to a communication, service problem or any other topic.
