Setting sales objectives
Objectives are the lifeblood of the sales manager. With clear objectives you as a sales manager can provide both yourself and your sales team with clear direction. Sales objectives allow salespeople and managers alike to know specifically what they are supposed to do.
In sales for an objective to be effective, it has to be very specific, measureable and Mutually agreed over a specific period of time.
If an objective is not specific enough or measurable, then how would you know it will get done? If all parties do not mutually agree to it, ownership of the objective does not transfer. If there is no time frame specified, how will you know when you need to take action and whether the objective can be met in the time required?
